How you’ll power our business as a Tanker Driver Class 2 in Bristol

As a Tanker Driver, you’ll play a vital role in safely delivering our fuel products to customers while providing an excellent customer experience and representing the Certas Energy brand. You’ll be responsible for operating your vehicle and associated equipment safely and efficiently, following all company procedures and legislation, and ensuring every delivery is completed accurately and professionally. With safety at the heart of everything you do, you’ll act as an ambassador for Certas Energy while helping us maintain the highest standards of operational excellence and customer service.

What you’ll be doing

  • Safely operate your tanker and depot equipment in line with company procedures, legislation and the Driver's Handbook.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure your vehicle is roadworthy before setting off.
  • Load and discharge products safely and accurately, checking delivery tickets against product grade and volume.
  • Verify customer details, delivery location, product grade and required volume before making each delivery.
  • Re-check ullage before dispensing product and ensure the correct amount is delivered.
  • Report any spills, contamination, accidents, incidents, unsafe sites or operational issues immediately through the correct procedures.
  • Deliver products safely and efficiently while meeting planned delivery schedules and keeping your line manager informed of any issues that could affect delivery.
  • Provide a first-class customer experience through courteous, professional and helpful interactions.
  • Respond to customer queries where appropriate and escalate any issues or discrepancies to your line manager.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues across the business.
  • Identify and report opportunities for additional business, competitor activity and relevant customer feedback.
  • Promote relevant products, services, sales campaigns and the Planned Delivery Service where appropriate.
  • Maintain a smart appearance and wear the required Certas Energy uniform and PPE.
  • Attend safety meetings, toolbox talks and relevant training, contributing to our Safety F1rst culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect commercially sensitive business information.
  • Take responsibility for your own development and contribute positively to the wider depot team.

What we’ll need from you

  • A valid ADR qualification is essential.
  • A valid Class C or Class C+E licence, depending on the role, is essential.
  • A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is essential.
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card is mandatory.
  • A Petroleum Driver Passport (PDP) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar tanker or fuel industry role would be an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and courteous approach to customers and colleagues.
  • Strong numerical and logical reasoning skills, with the ability to accurately check product grades, volumes and delivery information.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team.
  • A flexible, responsible and customer-focused approach to your work.
