Our Bioresources team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Tankered Trade Technician.
Your role will be to support the operation and growth of the Tankered Waste business in Bioresources. This will include providing a waste reception and control service and a customer point of contact across the Severn Trent Waters region.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team, work closely with our Production colleagues on-site to provide a swift, reliable and professional service to our customers while ensuring that the waste received is suitable for reception and treatment.
The working hours will be 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday, but you will have the ability to cover occasional shifts of 8am – 4pm and 11am-7pm subject to business needs. You'll primarily be based at our site in Minworth, again, being flexible with work location when needed.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Ensuring that samples of waste loads are taken and simple analytical testing is performed & recorded to allow acceptance to discharge onsite.
- Ensuring that all appropriate paperwork and electronic records (include duty of care and transportation) is completed and dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure the process for acceptance or rejection of loads based upon procedures is performed consistently & effectively to protect STW's assets & processes.
- Operate the waste discharge tanks onsite, calculating discharge rates in line with site performance.
- Liaise with site operational staff on a daily basis.
- Record & compile data, produce reports and support the delivery of relevant SLA’s / KPIs and requirements of the Tankered Waste Team & Manager.
- Work in other sampling duties as required such as for domestic waste.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re seeking our new Tankered Trade Technician to be comfortable at working from multiple Seven Trent Water locations to perform the duties related to Tankered Waste operations (e.g. receive loads, collect samples and paperwork, attending meetings etc.).
You’ll join our team with proven marketing experience at a senior level and will be adept at driving behaviour change. You’ll have excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and influence decision making with key stakeholders.
To be successful, you’ll hold a full driving licence, have great attention to detail and excellent communication/problem-solving skills. An awareness of water or waste industry and wastewater processes would also be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
