Our client is undertaking a significant transformation across its Finance division, creating a new Group Financial Planning & Performance capability designed to improve how performance and decision-making operates across the business. This is an opportunity to shape the foundations of that function, turning strategic ambition into a practical operating model that works across people, process, governance and technology.
The Target Operating Model Lead will translate strategy into an implementable future-state operating model, defining how the new function operates and connects with the wider Finance organisation and Enterprise Planning & Transformation division.
Role Highlights
- Design a practical Target Operating Model spanning organisation, processes, governance and capabilities
- Define future-state structures, responsibilities, decision rights and accountability
- Redesign planning and performance processes around the people who operate and consume them
- Map dependencies and interfaces across Finance and wider transformation functions
- Develop pragmatic transition states that move the organisation towards the target model
- Incorporate how AI and emerging capabilities can influence future operating models, workforce requirements, and ways of working

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
