Tax Accountant
Hertfordshire | £55,000–£60,000 + Bonus | Hybrid – 3 Days Office
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Accountant to join the finance team of a large, successful and established international business.
Reporting to the Head of Tax, you’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation across its UK tax obligations, with particular focus on corporation tax, VAT, tax reporting and compliance. You’ll also support and help develop a Tax Assistant.
This is a broad role offering exposure across both compliance and wider commercial tax matters, working closely with senior finance stakeholders, external advisers and HMRC.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing quarterly tax calculations based on forecasts and budgets
- Producing corporation tax computations and returns for approximately 12 entities
- Preparing annual IFRS 101 and IFRS 102 corporate tax disclosures
- Analysing tax data and undertaking tax sensitivity assessments
- Supporting the Head of Tax throughout the tax compliance process
- Developing your knowledge across VAT and Customs duties, including property VAT
- Supporting PAYE Settlement Agreement reporting
- Working with Alphatax and other finance/tax systems
- Liaising with external advisers and HMRC
- Providing guidance, support and development to a Tax Assistant
- Building strong relationships across Finance and the wider business
- Supporting ad hoc tax projects and keeping up to date with relevant legislation

About you
We’re looking for someone with:

- ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification (or equivalent) with post-qualified experience
- Strong exposure to corporation tax and VAT
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Experience with Alphatax, CODA, Coupa or Concur would be advantageous
Package
Salary of £55,000–£60,000, plus performance-related bonus and a strong benefits package
The role will operate on a hybrid basis following induction and training, with three days per week based in the Hertfordshire office and occasional travel to other UK locations as required.
