Tax & Treasury Accountant

Venn Group

Location: Bristol – hybrid working, three days per week on-site
Rough Salary range: £52,000 – £58,000 + Benefits
Contract: Initial 12-month fixed term until August 2027
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Venn Group is supporting a complex organisation in Bristol with the recruitment of a qualified Tax & Treasury Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the organisation’s tax and treasury operations, providing technical advice, preparing statutory returns and supporting improvements across the wider finance function.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the organisation’s treasury processes, modelling and reporting
  • Manage day-to-day tax activities and compliance
  • Prepare VAT and Corporation Tax returns
  • Advise stakeholders on the tax and treasury implications of future plans
  • Produce accurate statutory returns and internal financial reports
  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s PCI compliance environment
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strengthen processes, controls and reporting across the tax and treasury function
  • Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice

Essential experience

  • Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Practical experience of tax and treasury accounting
  • Experience preparing VAT and Corporation Tax returns
  • Strong treasury modelling, reporting and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence handling large datasets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Desirable experience

  • Experience working within a large or complex organisation
  • Knowledge of PCI compliance
  • Experience using Power BI
  • Previous experience within the public, education, charity or not-for-profit sectors
  • Experience delivering process and control improvements

Additional information

The role requires attendance at a Bristol-based site for at least three days per week, with the remaining days available for home working.
