Group Tax Accountant
£80,000 - £85,000 salary + bonus
Permanent position
London office 3 days per week, with 2 days from home
A leading international professional services partnership is looking to hire a Group Tax Accountant into its established finance function. This is a broad, hands-on tax role within a complex international environment, offering exposure across partnership tax, corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes, and cross-border compliance.
The role will suit an experienced tax professional who enjoys taking ownership, working closely with senior finance stakeholders and external advisers, and combining strong technical tax knowledge with sound accounting and reconciliation skills.
Duties
- Take ownership of day-to-day tax compliance and reporting across UK and international entities.
- Prepare and coordinate partnership and corporate tax returns and computations with external advisers.
- Prepare partner tax reserving calculations, tax payments, and related partner communications.
- Work closely with partnership accounting colleagues to review tax reserves and support the annual partner statement process.
- Support UK and international VAT compliance, including preparation and review of VAT returns.
- Coordinate international corporate tax compliance and ensure filing deadlines are met.
- Oversee annual employment tax compliance processes and support withholding tax and tax residence matters.
- Maintain tax controls, governance, and risk processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting.
- Support tax-related cash flow forecasting, intercompany activity, and ad hoc tax projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- ACA or ACCA qualified with significant tax specialisation. CTA qualification would be advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a tax compliance-focused role.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK partnership taxation, including partner profit allocations and tax reserving.
- Experience preparing or reviewing basic corporation tax returns and ideally VAT returns.
- Background within a law firm, accounting firm, international LLP, or other professional services partnership is highly desirable.
- Strong accounting knowledge, with the ability to work confidently across reconciliations, intercompany items, and large datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP or INDEX & MATCH, and data analysis.
- Confident communicator who can work with senior stakeholders, external advisers, and tax authorities and explain technical tax matters clearly.

- £80,000 - £85,000 base salary.
