Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Tax Accountant role based in Chipping Ongar, some remote working may be available once successful completion of probation period. The Tax Accountant will prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Daily responsibilities include:

- Managing tax filings including quarterly making tax digital preparation and submissions
- Maintaining accurate records
- Assisting with the preparation and analysis of financial statements
- Responding to client queries
- Advising on tax implications
- Supporting planning activities to optimize tax positions

The role also involves collaborating with colleagues across the firm to maintain consistent service quality and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong tax-focused skills, including Tax, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation
- Proficiency in Accounting and the preparation and review of Financial Statements
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Minimum experience in practice-based tax work, ideally within a small or medium-sized firm of 5 years
- High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple deadlines
- Competence with accounting and tax software, and confident use of spreadsheets and other office tools
