The Opportunity

As a Tax Administration Assistant, you will become an integral member of our friendly and supportive Tax team, providing administrative assistance across a broad range of tax matters while gaining valuable exposure to the profession.

This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in tax and professional services. Simmons Gainsford will provide full training, support, and development to help you build a successful long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across the Tax team, including assisting with and overseeing AI-driven automation processes
  • Supporting the team with client onboarding, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for new clients
  • Assisting with billing and financial management, helping to maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding clients' tax affairs and correspondence
  • Support the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of client records and documentation
  • Assist colleagues with ad-hoc queries, projects, and process improvements
  • Build positive relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes and ways of working

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
