Type: Contractor

About the Opportunity

micro1 is engaging experienced Tax Advisors to contribute to a customer project focused on income tax preparation, filing, and advisory services. In this role, you will apply your professional tax expertise to help train next-generation AI systems.

Your work will help shape how AI models learn, reason, and respond to complex tax scenarios through accurate, high-quality, real-world input. No prior AI experience is required — your tax expertise and professional judgment are the primary focus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze diverse real-world tax scenarios and provide accurate guidance consistent with IRS regulations and professional standards.
  • Evaluate and annotate tax-related documents, workflows, and scenarios for AI training purposes.
  • Develop and apply structured rubrics, best practices, and quality standards for tax-related outputs.
  • Provide expert input on income tax preparation and filing for individuals and/or businesses.
  • Identify complex tax situations, exceptions, and edge cases across federal and state tax matters.
  • Evaluate AI-generated tax responses for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate application of tax rules.
  • Recommend corrections and improvements to AI-generated outputs.
  • Collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary professionals working on AI capabilities in the tax advisory domain.
  • Document tax insights, reasoning, and feedback in a clear and structured manner.
  • Support iterative improvement of AI systems through consistent evaluation and expert feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential — required.
  • Demonstrated professional expertise in income tax preparation and filing for individuals and/or businesses.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state income tax regulations and filing requirements.
  • Ability to recognize nuanced tax-law issues, exceptions, and complex scenarios.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly, accurately, and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or applying rubrics, checklists, or quality standards in tax advising, accounting, auditing, or education.
  • Prior experience with training, auditing, quality assurance, or peer-review processes.
  • Interest in applying AI and technology-driven solutions within tax and accounting.
  • Experience evaluating professional work products for accuracy and completeness.
  • Familiarity with structured feedback and quality-control workflows.
