Job Description: Compliance Enablement Analyst

Amazon is seeking a compliance enablement analyst to join the team working to enable our ITX global compliance teams to onboard, create and continually use automation within the indirect tax compliance processes. This team sits within Amazon’s Indirect Tax Compliance organization.

You will be helping understand compliance problems, design mechanisms to combat these, turning the ideas for automation and improvements into reality. Using technology to its maximum potential to solve the users needs. Working alongside the compliance user base and enabling our compliance users when the tools are rolled out. You will also be involved with continual improvement of these.

The range of tools at our disposal are constructed in a variety of technologies including AI, VBA, Python, Java, Alteryx and the range of native AWS products and services. There is also the opportunity to branch out into other technologies, learning and being curious.

Amazon’s vision is to be Earth's most customer centric company. Originally known as an online bookseller, Amazon has dramatically expanded its range over the years both in terms of the products and services it sells and how and where it sells them. The growth of our international business (countries outside the USA) combined with increasingly complex tax legislation resulted in 2,000 plus indirect tax registrations in 75 countries making over 35,000 indirect tax-related filings each year.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
