Salary: In line with National Living Wage

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week

Holiday: 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

Are you an ambitious undergraduate student looking for a placement year opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us on a Tax Placement in our Lewes office for 12 months commencing July/August 2027.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to experience the role of a Tax Accountant first hand from our award nominated team of experts. You will have the opportunity to gain insights into personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work within a structured and supportive learning environment.

What you can expect on a tax placement:

  • To assist in the preparation of personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns and computations for a variety of clients
  • Assist on capital gains tax returns
  • Reviewing accounts to ensure that clients are compliant with current tax legislation
  • Assist the tax team with various submissions and payment deadlines throughout the year and senior members of the team with tax advisory work
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Assist with administrative tasks and marketing initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • A-Levels/BTEC/T-Level qualifications
  • Studying a relevant course at University, Accountancy & Finance related is preferred but other courses will be considered
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications
  • Hardworking & diligent
  • Able to work independently on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Professional and a positive work ethic
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Clear written & oral communication
  • Good attention to detail
  • Genuine interest in a future career in Tax

Recruitment process

We will be holding telephone interviews and face to face interviews for this recruitment, the dates for these are as follows:

  • Closing date – 31st January 2027
  • Telephone interview dates – Anticipated w/c 15th and 22nd February 2027
  • Face to Face Interviews – Planned for early March
