TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants near Uckfield. The firm is known for its friendly, supportive culture and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and career progression within a close-knit team.

Role Overview

The firm is seeking a motivated Tax Trainee to join its growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has started an accounting qualification and has some practical experience, ideally in tax, to further develop their technical skills and build a career within a respected accountancy practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of personal tax computations and self-assessment returns.
  • Support senior staff with client queries and tax compliance work.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Develop technical knowledge across personal and business tax.
  • Work closely with colleagues in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  • Have started an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or similar), tax-focused or otherwise.
  • Minimum of 12 months’ experience working in a practice environment, ideally in tax.
  • Understanding of basic tax principles and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Eagerness to learn and progress within the firm.
