Tax & Audit Manager — Fuse Energy
[About the Role]
Fuse Energy is a cutting-edge renewable energy startup driving a terawatt of scalable renewable energy production. Combining first-principles engineering with rapid scaling, we’ve raised in excess of $210M from industry leaders like Multicoin, Balderton, Accel, and strategic angels (including Nico Rosberg).
We’re building a fully integrated energy company: from solar/wind/battery project development to real-time power trading and direct-to-consumer sales, cutting out middlemen to deliver cost savings.
You’ll play a pivotal role as Tax & Audit Manager, shaping the financial backbone of our multi-entity (UK, US, EU+), high-growth business. You’ll lead group tax optimisation, drive regulatory compliance, and structure the company for long-term value—keeping pace with speed without leaving money on the table.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy & Financial Architecture
- Proactively redesign the group’s corporate structure, intercompany agreements, and financing to reduce tax leakage and maximise after-tax value across new markets.
- Identify gaps in current arrangements and propose leaner, higher-value structures as we scale.
Global Tax Compliance
- Oversee multijurisdictional tax filings (corporation tax, VAT/sales tax, R&D tax credits, payroll taxes, and indirect taxes) in UK, US, and expanding regions.
- Ensure timely payments, deadlines, and documentation across all entities.
- Manage transfer pricing policies and align intercompany agreements with upstream advisors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
