Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established and highly regarded chartered accountancy practice in Central London, which is seeking an experienced Tax Director to join its senior leadership team.

This is a senior opportunity for an ambitious tax professional who can combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, exceptional client management and a genuine desire to help shape the continued growth of a successful practice.

As Tax Director, you will take a strategic and hands-on role across the firm's tax offering, managing a diverse portfolio of clients while providing high-quality compliance and advisory services.

You will work closely with partners, directors and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted adviser to clients and identifying opportunities to further develop relationships and grow the firm's tax offering.

Your Key Responsibilities As Tax Director Will Include

  • Leading and developing the firm's tax offering across a varied client portfolio
  • Providing high-level tax advice and commercially focused solutions
  • Overseeing tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring consistently high standards
  • Managing complex personal and corporate tax matters
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities for business development and supporting the growth of the practice
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients and providing strategic tax guidance
  • Supporting and developing junior and senior members of the tax team
  • Working collaboratively with the wider practice across accounting, audit and advisory services
  • Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and advising clients accordingly
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and continued development of the practice

We are looking for an experienced tax professional with a strong background in practice and the confidence to operate at director level.

You Will Ideally Be

  • ACA and/or CTA qualified
  • An experienced tax professional with significant UK practice experience
  • Highly technically competent across a broad range of tax matters
  • Commercially minded, with strong business development skills
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships at senior level
  • Confident advising owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals
  • A natural leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
  • Comfortable managing complex work and multiple priorities
  • Proactive, ambitious and keen to play a significant role in the continued growth of the firm
