Tax Director – M&A – Oil & Gas
Our client is a leading oil and gas producer with a significant international portfolio and a clear strategy of growth through acquisition.
This senior role sits within the Group Tax function, reporting to the Head of Tax. It has been created to add deep sector expertise to the team and to lead the tax workstream on the group's M&A activity, working closely with Business Development, Finance and Legal from origination through to integration.

- Lead tax on acquisitions, disposals, farm-ins and other transactions, covering due diligence, structuring, modelling and SPA negotiation
- Partner with the Business Development team to assess the tax impact of opportunities early and shape deal economics
- Advise on corporate tax matters across the group, including ring fence and Energy Profits Levy positions
- Manage post-deal integration and support the Head of Tax on wider group tax strategy
Requirements
- Strong corporate tax background with significant, hands-on M&A experience
- Oil and gas / upstream tax expertise, including ring fence and decommissioning regimes
- Commercial confidence working directly with deal teams and senior stakeholders
- CTA, ACA or equivalent; Big 4 and/or in-house energy experience preferred
