Description
We are looking for a Tax Senior Manager to join our Cardiff-based team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional with deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a passion for keeping up to date with UK and international tax legislation. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on complex tax matters, support advisory projects, and contribute to the development of internal tax policies and training materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical tax expertise across business tax.
- Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Support internal teams and clients with tax risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and communicate changes in tax legislation and their impact on the business and clients.
- Develop and deliver technical training to tax teams and wider business functions.
- Engage with external tax bodies, industry forums, and HMRC on technical tax issues.
- Provide support on tax disputes, compliance reviews, and advisory projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and finance, to ensure seamless integration of tax considerations into business decisions.
- Complete own portfolio of client work to provide industry leading insights and advice.
- Ensure that the team and colleagues live the Xeinadin Values.

Key Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws.
- Strong communication and writing skills to effectively convey technical tax concepts.
- Experience providing technical training and guidance to tax professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive approach to staying updated with tax developments and regulatory changes.
- Demonstrable technical tax expertise with a genuine interest in providing wide‑ranging tax advice and working directly with clients through to implementation.
- A strong technical interest and practical expertise in one or more key areas of tax advice, with a desire to continue building in‑depth knowledge and specialist capability.
- Ownership and responsibility for client projects, with the ability to work independently as a self‑starter while operating effectively within a flexible working environment.
- Experience working with entrepreneurs and owner‑managed businesses, with an understanding of the unique challenges and perspectives within this sector.
- Confidence being represented as a technical expert across the wider group, including contributing to service line development through internal webinars and technical publications.
- A strong sense of commerciality and client management experience; business development skills are advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills, enabling the delivery of clear, practical, and well‑structured advice to clients alongside strong technical tax capability.
- Experience managing, training, and supporting members of the tax team to promote collaboration, maintain high standards, and achieve business objectives.

Professional tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT, or equivalent)
Additional Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good attention to detail and organisation, and a proactive and enthusiastic attitude are essential.
- Experienced and capable using tax software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision-making in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Wide range of tax experience.
