Tax Investigations Director

Cardiff | £90,000-£110,000 + benefits | Permanent

A rapidly growing accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Tax Investigations Director to help lead and develop its expanding Tax Investigations offering in Cardiff.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Tax Investigations professional who wants to take genuine ownership of their work, develop client relationships and play a key role in the continued growth of the function.

The Role

  • Lead and manage complex HMRC investigations and tax disputes
  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients
  • Advise individuals and businesses on investigations, disclosures, settlements and penalties
  • Oversee high-value and technically complex cases
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with existing clients
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to generate new Tax Investigations work
  • Work closely with wider tax and advisory teams to develop referrals
  • Support, mentor and develop junior members of the team
  • Help shape the strategy and continued growth of the Tax Investigations offering

We are looking for an experienced Tax Investigations Director / Senior Manager with a strong technical background and proven experience managing complex HMRC investigations.

You should be comfortable operating at a senior level with clients and ideally have a commercial mindset and appetite for business development.

Candidates from HMRC with significant investigations experience may also be considered.
