Tax Manager – International Retail and Ecommerce Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Manager to join a leading international retail and ecommerce business on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a broad and highly visible role with a genuinely international remit. Whilst some corporate tax responsibilities sit within the position, the primary focus is on indirect tax, VAT, customs duties and US sales tax across multiple global markets.

The business trades extensively across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, creating a complex and commercially focused indirect tax environment. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key tax processes, partner with senior stakeholders and lead a small team supporting a growing international operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review UK, EU and international VAT/GST compliance
  • Oversee monthly US sales tax reporting and compliance processes
  • Lead customs duty compliance and support international trade activity
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and tax authorities
  • Review and develop tax processes, controls and governance frameworks
  • Support international expansion by assessing tax implications in new territories
  • Provide advice on the tax impact of commercial and operational decisions
  • Oversee corporation tax compliance activities alongside external advisors
  • Manage and develop two tax analysts
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across finance and the wider business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
