Anderson Knight are delighted to be supporting our client, a Glasgow based accountancy and business advisory firm.

Working closely with ambitious business owners and individuals, providing proactive advice that goes beyond compliance. You will act as a trusted adviser, helping grow their businesses and navigate key decisions.

The Opportunity

As a smaller, independent practice, you'll be involved in both advisory and compliance work. Rather than sitting in a specialist silo, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of tax matters and play a key role in developing our tax offering.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients while leading on a wide range of tax advisory projects, including:

  • Corporate restructuring
  • Business sales, acquisitions and succession planning
  • Shareholder and remuneration planning
  • Capital Gains Tax planning
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Property taxation
  • Employee share schemes
  • SEIS and EIS advisory work
  • Trust taxation
  • HMRC enquiries and investigations

You'll also:

  • Review and sign off complex tax computations and returns
  • Identify and deliver proactive tax planning opportunities
  • Attend and lead client meetings
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and individuals
  • Support strategic business decisions from a tax perspective
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Work closely with the Partners to grow and develop the firm's tax services

What We're Looking For

  • CA/CTA qualified
  • Experience within a general practitioner
  • Communicates with honesty, integrity and confidence
  • Builds rapport and trust with clients naturally
  • Enjoys solving problems and finding practical solutions
  • Strong corporate and personal tax knowledge
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
