About The Role

Sheridan Maine London seeks a Tax Manager for a full-time, permanent position based in North London, offering £75,000 to £90,000 per annum. Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Chartered Accountancy firm based in North London, which is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing team.

Your Responsibilities As Tax Manager Will Include

  • Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, overseeing their tax affairs and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of corporation tax, self-assessment and other tax returns.
  • Providing clients with practical tax advice and planning opportunities, identifying areas where the firm can add value.
  • Supporting clients with a range of tax queries, including more complex and ad hoc matters.
  • Reviewing tax computations and ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with relevant legislation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Working closely with colleagues across accounts and wider business advisory teams.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, reviewing their work and helping with their development.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC requirements and communicating relevant updates to clients and colleagues.
  • Assisting with the continued development and growth of the firm's tax offering.

The successful Tax Manager will ideally be:

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or qualified by significant relevant experience.
  • Experienced within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong technically, with a good understanding of personal and corporate taxation.
  • Confident managing a portfolio of clients and working directly with business owners and individuals.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to identify tax planning and advisory opportunities.
  • A strong communicator who can explain complex tax matters clearly.
  • Organised and able to manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • A supportive team player with the ability to mentor and develop junior colleagues.
