Tax Manager

Greater London | Hybrid

Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Manager to join a growing, forward-thinking accountancy and business advisory firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional who enjoys combining technical tax advisory work with client relationship management and team development.

Working closely with Partners and an experienced Tax team, you'll manage and advise a varied portfolio of larger and more complex clients, with a particular focus on owner-managed businesses (OMBs).

The Role

As Tax Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering both tax compliance and advisory services, providing commercially focused advice to business owners across a broad range of tax matters.

You'll work directly with Partners on complex client assignments, while also overseeing the delivery of the tax return programme and supporting the training and development of junior team members.

The role offers plenty of variety, from advising on business and property transactions through to tax planning, inheritance tax, estate planning, and HMRC enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships across a varied portfolio of larger and more complex tax clients
  • Work closely with Partners to deliver high-quality tax advice and identify opportunities to add value
  • Provide tax planning and advisory support to business owners
  • Advise clients on the acquisition and disposal of businesses and properties
  • Provide advice across corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax
  • Advise on inheritance tax and estate planning matters
  • Manage and support HMRC enquiries and investigations
  • Undertake technical tax research, financial analysis, and report writing
  • Act as a technical tax resource to a wider network of smaller accountancy practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support via telephone and email
  • Oversee the effective delivery of the tax return programme
  • Ensure client work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Support the management, coaching, and development of junior team members
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and understand their wider business needs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
