Tax Manager - Nottingham
An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Tax Manager to its Nottingham office. The firm advises a broad range of owner-managed businesses and private clients, providing a combination of compliance and higher-level tax advisory services.
This is a key appointment with responsibility for managing the tax function within the office. You will oversee the delivery and review of tax work, support colleagues on technical matters and act as a main point of contact for clients. Alongside the day to day tax work, there is significant scope to become involved in more complex advisory projects across multiple offices.
Responsibilities
- Manage the tax function for the office, ensuring work is completed accurately and to appropriate deadlines.
- Review tax compliance work and provide technical guidance to colleagues where required.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a varied portfolio of business and private clients.
- Assist with a growing pipeline of corporate and personal tax advisory assignments.
- Support projects including business reorganisations and demergers, share schemes and company disposals.
- Assist with family investment company structures and inheritance tax planning.
- Work closely with senior tax specialists and partners on technically complex assignments.
- Provide tax advisory support to clients and colleagues across other regional offices.
- Identify tax planning opportunities arising from ongoing client relationships.

Candidate Profile
- Experienced tax professional with a strong grounding in UK taxation.
- CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with an appropriate level of technical knowledge.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
- Comfortable reviewing tax work and taking responsibility for the delivery of a tax function.
- Able to communicate technical tax matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Confident dealing directly with clients in meetings, over the telephone and by email.
- An interest in developing broader advisory experience across corporate and private client tax matters.
- Able to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with partners and colleagues across different offices.
