The Opportunity

Looking for a role that offers more than just compliance? As a Tax Manager / Assistant Manager, you'll work with a diverse range of clients, tackle complex tax challenges, and gain valuable exposure to advisory projects, all while developing your career within a supportive and ambitious team.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Tax Manager / Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Manage a portfolio across a range of client types (e.g., owner-managed businesses, larger corporates and groups including cross border tax considerations).
  • Review and oversee high-quality delivery of tax returns and computations, ensuring technical accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Identify risk areas, improve processes, and ensure consistent standards across the portfolio.
  • Spot opportunities in the client base and proactively raise them with Partners/Directors.
  • Translate complex tax into clear, practical advice clients understand.
  • Coach and support junior team members; review work and develop capability.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture and help strengthen technical and service delivery standards.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience at Manager level (minimum) in practice, with a track record across mixed tax compliance and some advisory. [RE: Job specs | Outlook]
  • Strong client handling skills and the confidence to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Technically curious and commercially minded — you enjoy advising, not just filing.
  • Qualification such as CTA / ACA / ACCA / ATT (or qualified by experience) — depending on the level/portfolio.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • A commitment to delivering excellent client service
