Tax Manager
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known Retail Banking in London for a Tax Manager. The role would suit a CTA qualified tax professional looking to apply their corporate tax expertise within a financial services business.
You will support the delivery of tax compliance and reporting, provide technical advice to internal stakeholders, and help manage tax risk across the entities within your remit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
- Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial reporting, including current and deferred tax calculations.
- Support tax forecasting and explain significant movements in tax balances and effective tax rates.
- Provide corporate tax input on business developments, transactions, and changes to group structures.
- Assess relevant legislative changes and support their implementation across the business.
- Maintain tax controls, supporting documentation, and governance processes, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support responses to HMRC enquiries and work with external advisers where required.
- Build relationships with finance, legal, and other internal teams to ensure tax considerations are addressed appropriately.

Candidate Requirements

- CTA or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong UK corporation tax experience gained in practice or an internal tax function.
- Experience preparing or reviewing corporate tax computations and tax reporting calculations.
- Sound technical judgement and the ability to explain tax issues clearly to colleagues outside the tax function.
- Strong organizational skills, with experience managing competing deadlines and reviewing complex information.
- Banking or wider financial services experience would be beneficial, subject to the requirements of the team.
