Tax Manager – Fund Tax Advisory | Leading Professional Services Firm

We are working on behalf of a highly regarded professional services firm to recruit a Tax Manager for their outsourced fund tax function.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established, top-tier advisory firm serving a global client base across a range of complex commercial and private wealth matters. Known for combining the resources to handle high-value, sophisticated mandates with the agility and close-knit culture of a smaller organisation, they have built a strong reputation for client service, an entrepreneurial spirit, and close working relationships across teams.

This is a senior-leadership-led environment where professionals are given genuine early responsibility and direct exposure to high-quality client work. Much of the firm's work has an international dimension, offering the chance to collaborate with global clients and specialist advisers across multiple jurisdictions. The firm places significant emphasis on structured training, mentoring, and long-term career development.

The Team

The tax practice is recognised as one of the leading advisory practices in its market. While part of the group's work supports broader corporate and transactional activity, a growing share involves free-standing tax advisory work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The specific team in question provides private fund managers with scalable, cost-effective tax support — without the overhead of an in-house tax function. Responsibilities span entity establishment and onboarding, ongoing tax operations, filing and compliance oversight, executive tax support, and deal support for private equity and credit fund clients, covering U.S., U.K. and other cross-border tax matters.

The Role

Working alongside senior tax advisors and account analysts, the successful candidate will manage day-to-day tax operations for private equity and credit fund clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing tax return preparation and reporting, including FATCA/CRS and other filings
  • Managing entity establishment and onboarding, including tax ID acquisition, jurisdictional registration/deregistration, and withholding tax applications
  • Liaising with clients, custodians, service providers, investors and other counterparties across multiple jurisdictions
  • Managing investor and counterparty communications on tax queries, and reviewing tax provisions in side letters and legal documents
  • Assessing tax implications of strategic initiatives and transactions
  • Coordinating with wider specialist colleagues (U.S. international tax, withholding tax, cross-border reclaims) to ensure seamless client service
  • Conducting technical tax research and drafting memos on client-specific matters
  • Supporting founders and senior executives with personal tax matters, including tax statements, distributions and remuneration planning
  • Monitoring legislative and market developments relevant to client businesses
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members
