This is an exceptional opportunity for a Big 4 Senior Manager, Associate Director or an ambitious in-house Tax Manager to move into a broad, hands-on role covering UK and international tax affairs, with particular exposure to operations across Africa.
A leading international natural resources group is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its London-based Group Tax team following a recent resignation. The business operates across multiple jurisdictions and is supported by a lean, highly commercial tax function with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and complex international tax matters.
The Role

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading UK tax matters and providing strategic tax support to the wider business.
- Advising on transfer pricing, tax governance, tax risk and tax controversy matters.
- Supporting financing, restructuring, M&A and joint venture projects.
- Partnering with finance, treasury, commercial and legal teams on transactional and operational issues.
- Managing relationships with external advisers and tax authorities.
- Supporting tax strategy and operations across multiple African jurisdictions.
- Reviewing tax reporting, forecasting and compliance activities.
- Driving improvements to tax processes, controls and governance frameworks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
We are particularly interested in speaking with:
- Big 4 Senior Managers or Associate Directors from Energy, Natural Resources, Mining, Oil & Gas or International Corporate Tax teams.
- Strong Tax Managers looking for a step up into a broader international role.
- In-house professionals seeking increased responsibility and international exposure.
- Candidates with experience in corporate tax, international tax and transfer pricing.
- Qualified professionals (ACA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent).
Why This Opportunity?
This organisation offers something increasingly rare in the market: genuine breadth, visibility and autonomy.
You'll join a lean team where hierarchy is limited, decisions are made quickly and individuals are encouraged to operate beyond traditional role boundaries. The culture suits someone who enjoys ambiguity, takes ownership and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment rather than a highly structured corporate setting. This is a role for a resilient, commercially minded tax professional who wants to be part of the business rather than simply advise it.
