Tax Manager

Location: Leicester
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days office / 2 days from home
Contract: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager opportunity with a leading professional services organisation.

This is a senior technical and client-facing role, ideal for an experienced tax professional with strong knowledge of IR35, employment status, and employment tax.

The Role

You will provide specialist tax advice to clients, act as a technical escalation point, and support the delivery and review of complex consultancy assignments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on IR35, Off-Payroll Working, and employment status.
  • Providing advice across employment tax and personal tax matters.
  • Reviewing technical reports, advisory opinions, and client recommendations.
  • Managing and supporting HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and settlements.
  • Advising on PAYE, National Insurance, CIS, and National Minimum Wage compliance.
  • Monitoring changes in legislation, HMRC guidance, and case law.
  • Mentoring and supporting Tax Consultants within the team.
  • Building strong client relationships and providing commercially focused advice.
  • Supporting complex client engagements and wider consultancy projects.

About You

We are looking for an experienced tax professional with:

  • ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualification, or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience advising on IR35, Off-Payroll Working, and employment status.
  • Strong UK employment tax and personal tax knowledge.
  • Experience dealing with HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and settlements.
  • Strong technical review and advisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Experience mentoring or developing other tax professionals.
  • The ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities.
