The Tax (Senior) Manager for VAT and Indirect Taxes
The Tax (Senior) Manager for VAT and Indirect Taxes will lead all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory for UK and Ireland. This role ensures accurate reporting, risk management, and strategic tax planning while supporting business growth and transformation initiatives. This is a great opportunity to join us on an initial 12-month contract on a full-time basis (part-time also an option) as we evolve our approach to VAT with exposure to a variety of interesting and challenging topics.

About the Job
Compliance & Reporting
- Support the review of UK and Irish VAT returns, Intrastat, RCT, and other indirect tax filings.
- Maintain robust internal controls and processes for indirect tax compliance.
Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide practical, commercially focused VAT advice on complex transactions, cross-border trade, and business projects.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess impact on the business.
- Drive improvements in VAT reporting systems and data management.
- Implement tax technology solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with finance, legal, treasury, and operational teams to ensure consistent tax practices.
- Mentor and develop junior tax team members.
- Contribute to wider tax strategy and transformation projects.

About You
- Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in UK and Irish VAT and indirect taxes, ideally within a multinational or Big 4 environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of VAT legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with tax technology and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Commercial mindset with ability to balance compliance and business objectives.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
