In-House Tax Reporting Senior Manager

Financial Services

London - Hybrid
£110-130,000 + Bonus + Package

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our in-house tax team, with primary responsibility for tax reporting across the group. This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Tax and Finance and plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of all tax reporting obligations.

The successful candidate will lead the review of quarterly and annual tax provisions, support external reporting requirements, and provide technical guidance on tax accounting matters. The role offers exposure to a broad range of business activities and strategic projects, while partnering closely with Group Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax reporting under IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Manage the group tax provision process, including current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Prepare tax disclosures for statutory accounts, annual reports, and interim financial statements.
  • Review reporting submissions from international entities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Monitor and explain movements in the group's effective tax rate.
  • Support the preparation of tax forecasts, budgets, and wider financial planning processes.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and audit support are maintained for all tax reporting processes.

Governance and Controls

  • Maintain and enhance the tax reporting control framework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and data quality within tax reporting processes.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external auditors and act as a key point of contact during reporting cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance requirements and tax risk management policies.

Technical Tax Accounting

  • Provide advice on the tax accounting implications of transactions, restructurings, acquisitions, and business initiatives.
  • Assess the impact of changes in tax legislation and accounting standards on the group's reporting position.
  • Support the implementation of new tax reporting requirements and disclosure obligations.
  • Prepare technical memoranda and position papers where required.

Business Partnering

  • Build strong relationships with Finance teams across the group to ensure accurate tax reporting outcomes.
  • Partner with Treasury, Legal, HR, and Commercial teams on tax-related matters.
  • Present reporting outcomes and key tax developments to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the Head of Tax on strategic projects and ad hoc initiatives.
