Perlin Franco is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and offers expertise across accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, business startups, company secretarial, payroll, and taxation.
Role Description
The Tax Senior is a full-time role based in London, with a mix of office work in Canary Wharf and some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves managing personal and corporate tax compliance, preparing tax returns and computations, reviewing work prepared by junior team members, and ensuring timely filing with HMRC. The Tax Senior will advise clients on tax planning opportunities, respond to HMRC queries, and support investigations or audits. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with accounting colleagues on financial statements, monitoring legislative changes, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to process improvements within the tax function. The role also includes client-facing responsibilities such as meetings, calls, and written communications to explain tax issues in a clear and practical way.

Qualifications

- Strong tax technical skills, including Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation, with the ability to manage a varied portfolio of clients.
- Solid understanding of Tax legislation and practice, with experience interpreting and applying current UK tax laws.
- Proficiency in Accounting principles and the preparation and review of Financial Statements, including linkage to tax computations.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent experience in a UK practice environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients in accessible language.
- Comfort with tax and accounting software, strong Excel skills, and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment, with a client-focused and ethical approach.
