Private Client Tax Senior
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Competitive
Working pattern: Hybrid
An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Senior to join its expanding tax team.
This role would suit someone with solid personal tax experience who enjoys working directly with clients and wants exposure to a broader mix of compliance and advisory work.
What you'll be doing
You'll manage your own portfolio of private clients and work closely with the wider tax team on a range of personal tax matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of private clients with different income sources, including employment, investments, and business interests
- Acting as a key contact for clients and building strong, long-term relationships
- Working with HNW individuals, partnerships, and owner-managed businesses
- Preparing and reviewing Self-Assessment tax returns and personal tax computations
- Handling a range of Capital Gains Tax matters
- Supporting ad hoc tax planning and advisory projects
- Assisting with one-off compliance and advisory assignments
- Attending client meetings and contributing to technical discussions
- Managing WIP, billing, and fee discussions across your portfolio
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across accounts, audit, and other tax teams

What we're looking for
You'll ideally have:
- ATT and/or CTA qualification, or be actively working towards CTA
- Previous experience managing a personal tax portfolio within practice
- Strong knowledge of Self-Assessment and personal tax computations
- Experience dealing with CGT and investment-related tax matters
- Exposure to EIS, VCT, and/or SEIS would be beneficial
- Knowledge of UK residence and domicile considerations is desirable
- The ability to research legislation and HMRC guidance independently
- Strong communication skills and a confident, client-focused approach
