Reception Teaching Assistant: Lambeth
Location: Streatham, Lambeth
Start Date: 28th September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: GBP 100-GBP 115 per day
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is looking for a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from 28th September.
The school is particularly interested in candidates with a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Education, who can provide nurturing and engaging support to children as they begin their school journey.
The Role
Working alongside the Reception teacher and wider EYFS team, you will help create a positive, stimulating environment where children feel secure and confident to learn.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting children across the Reception classroom and EYFS provision
- Working with individuals and small groups to develop early learning skills
- Supporting phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy
- Encouraging communication, language, and social development
- Helping children develop independence and confidence
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Observing children's progress and sharing relevant information with the teacher
- Supporting learning through play-based and practical activities
- Helping maintain an engaging and well-organised learning environment

About You
The school would ideally like to appoint a Reception Teaching Assistant who has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and enjoys working with young children.
You Will Ideally Have
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Education, or a related subject
- Previous experience working with children in an Early Years or primary setting
- A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to encourage children and build positive relationships
- A genuine interest in children's early development and learning
Experience supporting children with SEND would be an advantage.
