About The Role

Join a mission driven Christian organisation that’s making a real difference in the lives of young people. Conveniently based in Sunnybank, you’ll enjoy a well-connected location surrounded by great local amenities and a vibrant community.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teacher to join our Carinity school community. As a Teacher, you will develop and deliver quality, innovative teaching, and support programs for students, building positive relationships with all students and providing assistance in achievement of students’ personal and academic goals. For this role, it is required to undertake Teacher’s work in ways that provides a role model for youth in the everyday life of the campus community.

This position requires availability Monday to Friday each week between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM, commencing in 2027.

Your Day-to-day Will Involve

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences through Project Based Learning, planned lessons, and effective classroom management tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement (Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), ensuring behavioural and educational needs are met and progress is monitored.
  • Build strong relationships and provide student support, demonstrating positive role modelling, guiding behaviour, and supporting wellbeing.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, using proactive strategies in classrooms and during supervision to maintain safety and positive engagement.

About You

You are passionate about supporting youth and their families. You bring empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, and external professionals. You are organised, adaptable, and proactive in fostering a safe, supportive, and values-driven school environment.

  • Current QLD Teacher Registration
  • Experience in providing support and education for marginalised young people and those suffering as a result of Adverse Childhood Experiences
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Junior and Senior Humanities and Early Childhood Studies
  • Trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
  • Suitability for Working with Children card (Blue Card)
  • Experience and/or knowledge in trauma informed practices in an educational setting or willingness to learn
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) is advantageous
