We approach things a little differently at Loddon, as many of our children will have experienced mainstream and special schools before. We offer a ‘home-based’ style of education, with children learning through play and experiencing new life skills. Every opportunity is seen as a learning moment, as we operate 52 weeks of the year, there are a lot of opportunities.

We strive to ensure each child has an enhanced quality of life. Our multidisciplinary team uses positive working methods and a solution-focused approach to engage children in learning and prepare them for their adult life.

We do not use classrooms to teach and so creativity is essential when planning activities within our bespoke curriculum, which satisfy the National Curriculum, Ofsted and National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes and at the same time stimulate the children in their learning.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will be responsible for the integrated education and care of a group of four to five children who are supported by a dedicated team of staff. Staff development, careful monitoring of education and care plans for your group, recommending appropriate training and overseeing staff rotas will be within your job remit.

You will need to have an understanding of the National Curriculum and differentiation to link into the school’s own PLLUSS Curriculum. You will have experience of children with severe learning difficulties and autism, positive behaviour support and an ability to problem solve. Loddon School practices and promotes PROACT SCIPr-UK® and so knowledge of this would be desirable, or a desire to learn and support the school’s ethos.
