Salary: £30,596 - £46,595 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Part of Orbis Education & Care, Summergil School specialises in supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and additional learning needs.

About The Role
As a Qualified Teacher, you'll create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence and achievement. You'll tailor your approach to meet individual needs, helping each pupil make meaningful progress academically, socially and emotionally.
Working closely with learning support assistants, therapists, families and other professionals, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that meet the needs of individual learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to support a range of learning needs.
- Create a safe, positive and structured classroom environment where pupils can flourish.
- Use positive behaviour support approaches to encourage engagement and achievement.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, therapists, families and external professionals.
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, personal development and independence.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (or willingness to obtain this).
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Strong communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
- The ability to adapt learning and teaching approaches to meet diverse needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable
- Experience working with pupils with Autism, SEMH needs or additional learning needs.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A creative, flexible and reflective approach to teaching and learning.
Safeguarding
Summergil School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role involves regulated activity and is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, including Children's Barred List clearance, alongside satisfactory references and all relevant safeguarding checks.
