Job Opportunity at Blandford St Mary School

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our welcoming one-form entry school in a role that combines high-quality teaching, strong relationships, and a commitment to ensuring that every child can thrive.

About the Role

Following a change in our staffing, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Class Teacher and SENDCo to start on 1 January 2027, fixed term until 31 August 2027.

This is a full-time role combining classroom teaching with responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school and nursery.

The teaching element of the role will be within our Year 2 class, working alongside our Deputy Headteacher, who will share the teaching responsibility for the class. This provides a particularly positive opportunity for the successful candidate: you will have a trusted and experienced colleague sharing the class with you, allowing you dedicated time to undertake SENDCo responsibilities, meet with colleagues and families, liaise with external professionals, and complete SEND leadership work without the usual concern of needing to return immediately to the classroom.

We recognise that SENDCo responsibilities require protected time and focused attention. This structure therefore provides an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine classroom teaching with SEND leadership while working as part of a supportive leadership team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
