Teacher (Main Scale) – Year 6

Contract Type: Permanent.

Pay Grade: Grade M1 to M6.

Full Time Salary: £34,069 to £46,940.

Hours: 27.50 hours per week

Starting: 1 January 2027

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at St James CE Primary School! We are looking to recruit a passionate, caring, and enthusiastic Teacher, to join our committed team. Dedicated to supporting, inspiring, and leading the brilliant children in our school. Working together and supporting every child to flourish, feel safe, and enjoy the exciting journey of learning and discovery.

At St James, relationships and inclusion are a central strength in our school. Welcoming families from a wide variety of backgrounds, giving us an exciting multicultural mix of language and religion. We also have a large Pastoral Team that provides support to children and families across a wide range of wellbeing and safeguarding issues. Including our two specialist units that support our most vulnerable learners and highly skilled staff who support children to flourish.

We Are Looking To Appoint Someone Who

  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly.
  • Ensures all children feel safe, happy, and able to learn.
  • Has proven experience in delivering the curriculum in a creative and tailored way, to sustain the academic achievement of all pupils.
  • Is confident in using a range of behaviour management strategies.
  • Is committed to supporting, motivating, and challenging the learning of children of all abilities within the classroom.
  • Can make a special contribution to our school community, as a Teacher and a Team Member.
  • Is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
  • Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school.
