Biology Teacher
An exceptional Biology teacher is required to join this thriving and highly successful department on a fixed-term basis for two terms from January 2027 to teach across the range of ages and attainment from Year 9 to Year 13. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative department that inspires curiosity and enthusiasm for Biology across all age groups.
About the Role
The successful candidate should be academically well qualified and possess excellent subject knowledge. Experience of teaching Biology to GCSE and A Level is desirable, and applicants should be capable of contributing to the delivery of AQA GCSE (Separate Sciences and Combined Science) and Edexcel A Level (Salters-Nuffield) courses.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Biology as a subject in its own right, and also about teaching and learning both within the discipline and across the curriculum. They will be a reflective, lifelong learner with both the talent and drive to sustain high standards through evidence-informed pedagogy. Their enthusiasm for the subject and ability to communicate effectively will be essential across all ages and abilities.
The successful candidate will be able to create a challenging and effective learning environment for all pupils. They will contribute to the development of departmental resources, provide stretch and extension opportunities for students, and support Biology co-curricular activities. A commitment to contributing to the wider pastoral and co-curricular life of the College is essential.
