About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity within the Virtual School Sensory Support (VSSS) for a Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People. Virtual School Sensory Support (VSSS) is part of Norfolk County Council’s Inclusion and Opportunity service. VSSS is a county-wide specialist service supporting children and young people with sensory loss from birth to 25 across homes, early years settings, mainstream and specialist schools, sixth forms, and further education colleges.

To be successful in this role, you will be a dedicated, experienced qualified teacher with a proven track record of working with others with a focus on improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will either hold the mandatory qualification as a Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People or be willing to undertake this specialist qualification as part of your professional development.

You will be joining a close-knit, experienced, and supportive team whose members work collaboratively, share their expertise, and support one another to achieve the best possible outcomes. A strong team fit is therefore essential: you will be approachable, an excellent communicator, and someone who values open dialogue, shared problem-solving, and positive professional relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
