Reports to: Head of Drama
Start date: 01 January 2027 (1 year fixed term contract maternity cover)
Salary: £38,805 - £58,404 per year (depending on experience)
This position entails working closely with other post-holders in the Drama/English team to support the achievement of students at Ark Isaac Newton Academy. You will have a chance to collaborate with other Ark teachers and leaders across the network, where there are numerous opportunities to develop knowledge and expertise.
As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with great colleagues and develop your career through an outstanding professional development programme. You will be encouraged to be a reflective and open practitioner and be supported by the expertise of the Principal and experienced network colleagues, to develop yourself as an outstanding teacher.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a strong teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes
- Be passionate about Drama education and the importance the subject has in the wider culture and ethos of the academy
- Have ambition to grow and develop
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience of teaching Drama across KS3 & KS4
- Experience of having worked successfully in at least one school in an urban, multi-cultural setting, teaching students from backgrounds of socio-economic disadvantage
- Supporting students of all ages and abilities to make excellent progress and achieve impressive examination outcomes
- Up to date knowledge in the curriculum areas of KS3 Drama and GCSE Drama
- Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour

Qualification Criteria:
- Qualified to degree level and above (a degree in Drama/Performing Arts or equivalent would be advantageous, but is not essential)
- Qualified to teach (and work) in the U.K.
- Skilled to teach Drama at KS3 & KS4
