About The Role

On behalf of a thriving secondary school in Brent, Randstad Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English starting in January 2027. You will deliver high-quality English Literature and Language lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for reading, critical thinking, and strong communication skills. The department offers well-resourced classrooms, modern tech, and a highly collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Regularly assess student work, providing constructive, actionable feedback that accelerates academic progress.
  • Create an inclusive, structured, and positive learning environment where students feel safe, challenged, and motivated.
  • Monitor pupil attainment and implement targeted interventions for students requiring extra support or stretch opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to extra-curricular activities, such as debate clubs, creative writing workshops, or school publications.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents evenings, and whole-school professional development events.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A relevant degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven ability to teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with strong subject knowledge.
  • Excellent classroom management techniques and high expectations for pupil behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative team ethos.
