Role Purpose

To provide high-quality, adaptive English and Humanities teaching for pupils whose previous educational experiences may include disrupted attendance, gaps in learning, low confidence or SEMH-related barriers. The postholder will strengthen literacy across AYA while helping pupils reconnect with learning through purposeful, accessible and ambitious teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach English and Humanities in very small groups and, where appropriate, through individualised learning.
  • Establish accurate starting points and use assessment to identify gaps, strengths and next steps.
  • Develop reading, writing, speaking, listening and vocabulary across the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching without unnecessarily lowering ambition; provide scaffolding, challenge and opportunities for success.
  • Contribute to curriculum mapping, schemes of work, assessment and evidence of pupil progress.
  • Work with the Deputy Head of School to ensure curriculum coherence and appropriate pathways toward qualifications or next destinations.
  • Use pupils’ interests, stories and experiences thoughtfully while maintaining curricular breadth and academic purpose.
  • Work closely with SEND, pastoral and therapeutic colleagues to understand barriers and implement agreed adjustments.
  • Provide clear information for reviews, reports, parent/carer communication and commissioner/professional meetings.
  • Maintain a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
