Manchester, Tameside, Oldham and Bury

£150 - £230 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

Are you a qualified Teacher of English looking for your next opportunity in Greater Manchester? Premier Education is working with secondary school trusts across Manchester, Tameside, Oldham and Bury to recruit English Teachers for potential long-term cover roles. Opportunities may include sickness cover, maternity cover, vacant-post cover, and ongoing assignments.

We will take the time to understand your preferred locations, availability, and career goals before matching you with suitable schools. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers looking to develop their confidence and experienced English Teachers seeking a rewarding new position. Teacher of English - the role

Depending on the placement, your responsibilities may include:

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 - KS5
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Following an established curriculum and schemes of work
  • Assessing pupils' work and monitoring progress
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations
  • Creating a positive and purposeful classroom environment
  • Managing behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Working closely with departmental colleagues and school leaders
  • Contributing to the wider work of the English department

Teacher of English - requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status
  • A relevant degree or strong subject knowledge
  • Recent experience teaching English in a UK secondary school, including teaching placements
  • Knowledge of the Key Stage 3 and GCSE English curriculum
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A reliable, adaptable, and professional approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • The legal right to work in the UK - we are unable to offer visa sponsorship
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one
