Derby College Group is looking for an experienced and adaptable Teacher of ESOL to join our Adult ESOL team. Based at the St James’ Centre, you’ll support adult students from Pre-Entry through to Level 2, helping them develop the English language skills, confidence and knowledge they need to achieve their personal, educational and vocational goals. The Opportunity
As a Teacher of ESOL, you’ll plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that challenge and support students to make excellent progress from their individual starting points. You’ll develop schemes of learning, assess and monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback and maintain accurate student records and individual learning plans. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you’ll help ensure a high-quality and responsive learning experience that supports achievement and progression. This full-time role includes teaching two evenings each week to meet the needs of our adult students.

About You
You’ll have experience of teaching ESOL to adults, alongside experience of ESOL curriculum planning and delivering ESOL within a community learning environment. You’ll be a confident and engaging teacher with excellent interpersonal, organisational and time-management skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment. You’ll hold a recognised teaching qualification, a Level 5 subject specialism, and Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent. Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about helping adult students build confidence, achieve their goals and progress.
