Job Title: Teacher of Food Technology

Salary: Competitive (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Role Purpose

Are you a passionate Food Technology Teacher looking to shape and grow an exciting department?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Food Technology to inspire students from Year 3 to Year 11, developing their practical cooking skills, confidence, independence, and understanding of nutrition and healthy living.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a thriving subject area and play a key role in its future development. Alongside delivering engaging Food Technology lessons and nationally recognised vocational qualifications, you'll help drive plans to introduce GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Years 3-11.
  • Lead and develop the Food Technology curriculum, inspiring a passion for food, nutrition and cooking.
  • Support students of all abilities, including those with additional needs, to achieve their potential.
  • Monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback and maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues to support student success.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and school events.

What You Will Bring

  • Holds QTS and a relevant degree qualification.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology across a range of age groups and abilities.
  • Is passionate about food education, nutrition and developing practical life skills.
  • Can inspire, motivate and engage students through creative teaching.
  • Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Understands how to support students with additional needs, including autism and dyslexia.
  • Is committed to making a positive difference to every student's learning journey.
