Role Description

The Teacher of Geography will deliver engaging and well-structured geography lessons to students across appropriate year groups in this full-time, on-site role based in Dudley.

  • Planning schemes of work
  • Preparing lesson resources
  • Assessing student progress
  • Providing constructive feedback to support learning
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management
  • Contributing to curriculum development
  • Participating in department and whole-school initiatives
  • Communicating regularly with colleagues, students, and families
  • Supporting co-curricular activities, trips, and fieldwork related to geography
  • Upholding the school’s values and safeguarding policies at all times

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience delivering geography or related subjects.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing differentiated learning activities and supporting varied student needs.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex geographical concepts clearly and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Relevant degree in Geography or a closely related discipline, and a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and support student progress, including familiarity with relevant examination specifications.
  • Competence with classroom technology and digital learning tools to enhance teaching and student engagement.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development within a diverse school community.
