About This Role
Job Title: Teacher of Geography
Location: Tipton

We are seeking a dynamic, supportive, and inspiring Teacher of Geography who is able to deliver engaging and ambitious lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge, a clear commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, and the ability to inspire students to understand the world around them through geographical knowledge, skills and enquiry. Geography is an important part of our broad and balanced curriculum, helping students to develop curiosity, critical thinking and an understanding of local, national and global issues. We are therefore seeking an incredible teacher who is passionate about Geography and able to motivate students to learn, think deeply and achieve highly. The successful candidate will be joining an established and cohesive team of colleagues, with good links across other schools as part of the Mercian Academy Trust, with excellent opportunities for development.

The Academy is looking for someone who has:
- Ambition for all students to achieve incredible things, particularly inspiring their interest and supporting the development of knowledge, understanding and skills in Geography;
- Resilience to adapt and support all students in achieving in Geography;
- Ambition for your own development and learning. All teaching staff are provided with additional non-contact time specifically for personal-development;
- Excellent subject knowledge;
- The ability to understand and work with assessment data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4;
- Responsibility for adding value to every learner in each teaching group benchmarked against national criteria and data;
- Delivering, planning, and preparing lessons in accordance with the planned curriculum;
- Contribution to curriculum design within Geography;
- Working as part of an incredible team that ensures creative and innovative learning and teaching occurs in every lesson;
- Being a Form Tutor.
Pay range: MPS/UPS - £32,916 - £51,048
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified teacher status
- A commitment to high standards for all
- Continuing good record for professional development
- Achievement of high standards
- Awareness of the value of assessment data in raising standards
