POST: Teacher of History and Literacy for Life (Maternity leave cover)
LOCATION: Shireland Biomedical UTC
SALARY: TMS/UPS
REQUIRED FOR: January 2027 till Sept 2027
Shireland Biomedical UTC is the UK's first University Technical College specialising in healthcare and health science, whilst still providing a broad & balanced curriculum. Situated in the centre of West Bromwich, we are an ambitious and rapidly growing school with a clear vision: to provide an exceptional education that prepares young people for success in higher education, apprenticeships and future careers.
Having welcomed our first Year 7 cohort in September 2022 and reached full capacity in September 2026, we are entering an exciting new phase of our development. As part of the L4L and History team, you would be delivering History at Key Stage 4 and L4L at Key Stage 3.
We are looking for passionate and creative teachers who work well within a team and who will help us on our journey to provide an exceptional educational provision for our pupils and families.

Candidates should:
- Have experience of teaching across the key stages. Applications from newly qualified teachers are welcome
- Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher
- Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour
- Demonstrate an ability to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils
- Be committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve
- Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact.
- Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others
- Be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate.
