Religious Education Teacher / Secondary Religious Education Teacher
Grass Roots Academic Support is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Religious Education Teacher / Secondary Religious Education Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Religious Education Teacher or ECT to teach Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, engaging and motivating students while helping them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
As a Religious Education Teacher, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Teaching engaging and ambitious Religious Education lessons across the age and ability range
- Developing students’ knowledge of religious and non-religious worldviews
- Encouraging thoughtful discussion, critical thinking, and respectful debate
- Helping students explore significant philosophical, moral, and ethical questions
- Assessing students’ understanding accurately and using this to support their progress
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver and further strengthen the curriculum
- Contributing positively to the wider life of the school
- Being supported through shared planning, professional development, and, if relevant, a strong ECT programme

Requirements
The Successful Religious Education Teacher Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
- A proven teaching record and/or high-quality references.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students.
- A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
- A current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or willingness to complete a new DBS application where required.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
Job Details
This is an excellent opportunity for a Religious Education Teacher or Secondary Religious Education Teacher to join a successful school in Suffolk on a Maternity Cover contract. The role offers an MPR/UPR salary, 3 days per week (Mon – Wed). ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
