About The Post

We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of Science to join our talented and forward-thinking department as we continue to transform education across our town.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Teach science within a high-performing and well-established department
  • Deliver exceptional extra-curricular opportunities within and beyond science
  • Further contribute to our vision for education across the town of Christchurch
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

Science at Twynham is thriving. We offer both GCSE Double and Triple Award pathways, ensuring that all students can access a curriculum that challenges and inspires them. At Key Stage 5, biology, chemistry and physics are among our most popular A level subjects, and we are proud to have recently introduced the new AAQ in medical science. Many of our students go on to study science-related courses at university and pursue careers in scientific and medical professions, reflecting the strength of our provision and the dedication of our staff.

We are also proud to be part of the Bournemouth Bay Teacher Training Partnership, with the motto train local, teach local. We are committed to supporting colleagues as they begin their journey into the profession, offering an excellent two-year ECT induction programme and continuing professional development throughout your career. This ensures that colleagues are supported not only at the start of their teaching journey but also as they progress into leadership and specialist roles.

This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a talented colleague who will relish the chance to teach science across Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential for specialist teaching at Key Stage 5. You will play a key role in further improving outcomes in science, contributing to the ongoing development of the Twynham Learning science curriculum, and working with exceptional colleagues to provide our students with the very best life chances.

What We Can Offer You

  • The chance to be a part of an exciting educational journey
  • The opportunity to work with exceptional colleagues and wonderful young people and their families
  • An exceptional CPD offer from teacher training and the ECT framework through to preparation for senior and system leadership
  • Strong and supportive leadership, who place value on learning beyond the classroom
  • Free, confidential access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers a range of counselling services plus financial, legal and practical support from qualified professionals on a range of personal issues and access to online health and wellbeing resources
  • A trust-wide intranet, where we share our news, information and resources
  • Local discounts negotiated on behalf of our staff e.g. gym memberships, hair and beauty salons, chiropractic care, cycle shops, restaurants, motoring services, and retail/DIY stores
  • A welcoming staff room with complimentary tea and coffee available throughout the day
  • The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
  • The opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast
  • Automatic membership of the Teachers Pension Scheme

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
